Together for Nature and Equity and Sustainability Consulting are launching our Spring (and third) cohort for our Sustainability Mentorship Program, open to high school and college students. We started the Mentorship program to involve youth in local environmental efforts and to equip them with skills and knowledge that will help them in their academic and professional journeys, preparing them for a green future.
The Mentorship program will run from February to the end of April, and it will provide students with mentoring, educational, scientific, activist, networking opportunities, and skill development. We have mentors that are working on stream/wetland restoration, lobbying, environmental justice, diversifying sustainability, pollinator gardens, and other topics. Students can apply for the Spring cohort of the program at bit.ly/envirolc until the deadline of January 22nd.
Together for Nature is a grassroots organization focused on connecting underserved communities to nature and environmental efforts in Lake County, IL, and Equity and Sustainability Consulting is a firm that assists organizations with strengthening their ties to their communities and improving their social and environmental impacts.
It would be great if you could share the mentorship opportunity with your community and especially students.
Please let us know if you would like more information.
We are also looking for additional environmental leaders in Illinois to mentor our youth, so we can offer this opportunity to more students. If interested, please fill out this form bit.ly/enviromentor as soon as possible or send to potential mentors!
Please let us know if you have any questions or if you would like to collaborate on increasing equity and diversity in local sustainable efforts.
